UK Offers Viticulture & Wine-making Assistance

Early Kentucky Home Life Seminar
Friday, June 28th, 9am - 3:30pm at Frankfort, Kentucky
The Early Kentucky Home Life Seminar: Foodways of Early Kentucky is a seminar presented by Liberty Hall Historic Site (LHHS), Frankfort, Kentucky. This one day seminar will explore the world of food and drink, cultivation, and preparation in the first quarter of the 19th century in Kentucky. Held on June 28th, 9 am-3:30 pm, sessions will include: Frankfort Foodways: Eating at Liberty Hall presented by LHHS staff, Wine in Early Kentucky, presented by Tom Beall, owner of First Vineyard/J.J. Dufour Winery, and Cooking by the Book, presented by Jonathan Jeffrey of Western Kentucky University. Wine tasting luncheon. Seminar participants will also be able to tour the 1796 historic home, Liberty Hall, and see a 19th century cooking demonstration in Liberty Hall’s historic kitchen by re-enactor Emily Burns. The seminar will be held at the Orlando Brown House, 202 Wilkinson St., Frankfort, KY 40601. Registration Fee: $40 for Friends of LHHS, NSCDA-KY, or HHN members. $45 for all others. KVS Board Meeting
